Systems of Cooling

The important part of making quality microclimate of livestock are BAUER air cooling systems. With the help of them we can eliminate the negative effects of the high temperatures and subsequently heat stress on performance, health status and level of mortality. By the development of BAUER systems we came out of the fact that, for each category of animals as well as various territories (various outdoor air conditions, relative humidity in these areas) must be a different system of dispersion, refinement and drops of water, that air can hold. Crucial to the choice of the ventilation system in the stable and its capacity,distribution valves and wall fans.

To reduce the temperature in the stables we use 3 ways:

COOLING THROUGH INCREASED AIR FLOW (AIR VELOCITY)

BAUER ventilation systems use in crisis situations with extreme temperatures the possibility of increasing air velocity and thereby reduce the to eliminate the "feeling" perception of temperature and thermal stress.

PAD COOLING

Honeycomb systems (Bauer PAD COOLING) - implemented in several versions, especially at the stables with a central air supply tunnel systems. Advantage is the price, disadvantage is the impossibility of year-round use.

DIFFUSION COOLING WATER FLOW INTO THE AIR

We offer the whole line of technical and prize different systems of cooling. The more requirements we have, resp. the longer we want to use them in the year, or the more we want to control them , it is nessesary to use the highest pressure and the thinner nozzles. Thin nozzles have the flow 0,05 – 0,08 It/ min , coaser nozzles have ordinadely 0,5 – 0,8 It/min. Reduction of temperature in normal condition is to 5 degrees of Celsius.

- High pressure systems BAUER TOP KLIMA 100 – 150 Pa deliver mostly with stainless steel pipes, high pressure nozzles and high pressure pump suitable for fine sprey of water especially for poultry and sows.

- Low pressure stationary systems BAUER MICROSRAYMATIC (shovering) to 60 Pa ( PE pipelines connectable to normal water supply, coaser nozzles) During the flow cca 25-35 It/ hour is sprayed circle cca 1-1,5 m, i.m. the distance between the nozzles is 2- 5,0m. These systems are interesting especially for very low prize. We use them in the season of extreme high temperature.

- Cooling fans of system BAUER, are beared around the circuit by nozzles or scatteing heads. They can work with low pressure from water pipelines or with high pressure from high-pressure pump. Real reach is 20-30 meters. They can also have the positive effect in the terms of circulation of air.

COOLING SYSTEMS FOR STABLES FOR CATTLE

Unforgettable element of creation of quality microclimate in the stables for cattle is the cooling systems BAUER. With their help we can eliminate negative influences on performance, health and the size of deaths.

 

Heat stress in dairy cows causes:

  • Reduced feed intake,
  • Reduction in milk production,
  • Increased respiratory rate of 80/min,
  • Higher % reduction in conception,
  • Increase% of stillborn calves.

Reducing milk production depending on the growth ambient temperature.

When developing systems for cattle BAUER one assumes that we have two types of systems:

  • To cool the air through air stream (higher air velocity),
  • Cooling through water dispersed into the air, where we are in the development accentuated the fact, that for the cattle must be a quality system of dispersal, and gentleness and drops of water, that air can hold must be such that water did not close the poreson the skin surface. Small particles of water forming an impenetrable layer of the skin, large drops of water in turn has negative effects on stress in animals. It is crucial to the ventilation system in the stable and its capacity.

Optimal indicator of stress is called the dairy factor THI (temperature-humidity index). If it is less than 70, cows are outside the temperature-humidity stress zone. The value of 70-79 indicates, that cows are in moderate stress, value 80-89 mean stress from the temperature (converted to temperature-humidity levels, ie thetemperature values are converted to the influence of relativehumidity), values above 90 indicate a strong temperature-humidity stress with risk of death of the animal.

FANS FOR „SPACE“ VENTILATION TO REDUCE HEAT STRESS OF CATTLE

Fans are determined for the use in agriculture objects, for reduction of heat stress of cattle. It is demonstrated, that the first symptoms of heat stress can find by the cows in the ambient temperature of environment 22oC. From these reasons the fans we use not only in the warm summer days. Fans provide very pleasant tunnel circulation of air, so that not originated medical unreasonable draft. This way of cooling the cows is very effective and allows their active cooling to the temperature 34o C of ambient temperature without any cooling ways as spraying the cows and so on.

Additional equipment fans can be mounted with low-pressure nozzles for the dispersion of water installing in the front of fans with a complete high pressure system (high-pressure pump and nozzle, incl. distribution of water in a stainless steel pipe).
